Start planning now to attend the eighth annual Big Sky Youth Harmony Rendezvous, Wednesday June 16 to Sunday June 20, 2010.

The seventh annual Big Sky Youth Harmony Rendezvous, held June 17 to 21, was a rousing success. Over 50 students ranging in age from 9 to 21 had a fantastic time at Luccock Park United Methodist Camp, south of Livingston, Montana. The concluding concert at the Holbrook United Methodist Church was our best ever! The young men and young women showed great talent in mastering the music, choreography, and emotion necessary to present their songs in a superb performance.

Goals and objectives for the Rendezvous:

To introduce high school students to a cappella choral singing, especially barbershop style.
To provide students with an educational opportunity and a chance to perform what they learn.
To develop a positive working relationship among Montana's barbershop chapters, Montana's vocal music teachers, and Montana high school singers.
To support vocal music education in Montana and the surrounding region.

The Big Sky Youth Harmony Rendezvous is a vocal music camp featuring four part a cappella harmony singing in the barbershop style. The camp is open to young men and young women between the ages of 13 and 21. Vocal music teachers are also welcome.

Since the first Big Sky Youth Harmony Rendezvous was held in June 2003 it has become an annual gathering enjoyed by youth from all over Montana. We have benefited from the experience of barbershoppers and Sweet Adelines who held similar camps elsewhere in the United States in the 1990s. Our program grew out of the Evergreen District's first Northwest Harmony Explosion camp held in July 2002 in Tacoma, Washington. From 33 students the first year, we have grown steadily to 74 youth and 6 vocal music teachers in 2007. This year we had 63 registrants attending.

Our goal for 2010 is 75 youth -- won't you help us meet that goal by joining us for 5 great days of singing and fellowship?
