Selecting a voice part for barbershop harmony: For most of the songs sung at Big Sky Youth Harmony Rendezvous, the young men will sing in a different voice range than the young women. If you are not sure of your voice part, please have your vocal music teacher help you select the part that is the most comfortable range for YOU. The guidelines below are just that, guidelines. You may be able to sing lower and/or higher notes, but you should be COMFORTABLE singing within the range designated.
Men: TENOR from Bb below middle C to A above middle C
LEAD from G below middle C to E above middle C
BARITONE from Eb below middle C D above middle C
BASS from A one octave below middle C to Bb below middle C
Women: TENOR G above middle C to high F
LEAD middle C to high D
BARITONE Bb below middle C to Bb above middle C
BASS G below middle C to G above middle C
REGISTRATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MAY 21st 2009
Mail your completed registration form to Harmony Rendezvous, PO Box 334, Bozeman, MT 59771. Enclose your check to “Harmony Rendezvous”: $100 (or $90 if received by April 29). (THIS IS TENTATIVE -- WE HOPE THAT Generous grants from the Harmony Foundation, the Bud Leabo Memorial Fund, the Young Singers Foundation, barbershop and Sweet Adeline International chapters, and the Northwest Energy Foundation allow us to keep 2006 prices again this year! ) In late May we will mail you the parental consent form, medical history form, “what to bring” list, music, and learning CD. NOTE: If you are a student who requires scholarship support in order to attend, send only $25 and enclose a brief letter of recommendation from your principal or vocal music teacher that attests to your financial need and your enthusiasm for singing.
Please do read the "rules" and "schedule" pages of this website. There will be an additional fee of $15 for late registrations (i.e., registration requests received after May 21 2009 -- whether or not a scholarship is requested/granted).
